The Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman (PHSO) changed its name to the Public Service Ombudsman (PSO) on 1 October 2026.
This website, PHSO-thetruestory, was established to provide independent information, scrutiny and support to people affected by the work of the Ombudsman. Although the organisation has a new name, the questions surrounding its performance, accountability and treatment of complainants remain the same.
